Why Your Support Matters – Rising Above Wrestling (RAW)
Rising Above Wrestling exists for one simple reason: To give every child in the City of Rochester access to opportunity, regardless of their financial situation.
Our program is completely free for city youth. No fees. No barriers. No kid turned away.
But that only works because of fundraising and community support.
Donations are what make it possible for us to:
Keep the program 100% free for families who otherwise couldn’t participate
Provide coaching, mentorship, and structured training that goes far beyond wrestling
Supply gear like shoes, singlets, and equipment so every athlete can step on the mat with confidence
Take kids to tournaments and events, giving them exposure, experience, and something to work toward
Expand into after-school programming, creating a safe, consistent place for kids during the most critical hours of the day
Grow into a year-round program, offering multiple levels of instruction for both boys and girls
At its core, this isn’t about wrestling.
It’s about keeping kids in the right environment, around the right people, with the right guidance — consistently.
That takes resources. It takes commitment. And it takes a community that believes these kids are worth investing in.
